First Korea-Japan Summit Following the Inauguration of the New Korean Government

The first summit meeting between South Korea and Japan took place following the establishment of the new administration in Korea. Both heads of state deliberated on the relationship between their respective countries and discussed potential avenues for advancing ROK-U.S. and ROK-U.S.-Japan relations.The summit between Korea and Japan unfolded in a predominantly positive environment. In the course of the dialogue, the two leaders expressed their readiness to engage in collaborative efforts spanning industrial supply chains, cultures, the transfer of human talent, and other diverse areas. Furthermore, they exchanged their opinions on the political dynamics across the Korean Peninsula and found common ground on the vital importance of establishing future-oriented collaborative efforts between Korea and Japan, looking ahead to the next 60 years.
